You just might be sitting on a gold mine of powerful links to boost your SEO rankings. What if for a little effort, you could be ranking higher in the search engines in just a few weeks. Whether you're a DIY small business SEO, or have a specialist to help you, you must make sure to use the power of internal links.
Internal Links Matter
I don't know anyone who really likes to do link building.. It's no fun and a pain to get links from other sites. Have you asked yourself for links? It's a very serious question.
If you done the work to create a lot of pages on your site, but you're not linking to your own pages and post, then you are bleeding a lot of power from lost links. Contextual links are believed to be the most important links in the search engine algorithms because they're in the middle of richly related terms..
In other words, if you place a link about beet farming in a page about beat farming, it's going to have a more value than if you put it on a page about music. That makes sense doesn't it? A human reading the page and a search engine evaluating the page will both consider the in-context relevant link more valuable.
I reviewed a site a few days ago with external links from 43 other sites. Not many. However, this site had a PageRank of 3 because of the use of contextual internal links. The site shows 322 pages indexed in Google. The site had at least three internal links on every page. The site has targeted a few competitive keywords and ranks well for those phrases.
We can see from this example that a good amount of content with internal links can result in good PageRank and search engine rankings.
What You Need to Do
The first step is to remember that when creating new content, link to your key existing pages and posts. The best thing is to link to the landing pages for each major keyword. For instance if you're targeting video cameras and you selected 10 major keyword targets, link to three of those pages on every new post or page on the site.
Next, go back to existing indexed pages and update the links. Don't change them all at once. Do it slowly, perhaps one existing page for every new page.
Over time, you will see your pages rise in the search engine results pages. I've moved pages from the third page of Google to number 4 on the first page using just internal links. There is tremendous power in internal linking. You will see boost to to rankings, particularly if haven't been using internal linking properly. Affordable small business SEO is always a challenge. Use this free method takes takes only a little of your time to get big results.
